Our Focus

Why do we Focus on One + One + One?

The Greater Gift Initiative gifts one vaccine to one child every time one clinical trial volunteer makes the important decision to volunteer for a clinical trial. The Greater Gift Initiative raises public awareness of the benefits of participating in clinical research by connecting clinical trial participation to the greater good of helping others in a more immediate way.

One Vaccine – Vaccines are the end result of successful clinical trials. An estimated 3.9 million future deaths can be prevented between 2011-2015 with sufficient funding. Vaccines have done more than any other class of drugs to improve global health*. (*Source: The GAVI Alliance).

One Child – Every year almost 2 million children die of vaccine preventable diseases. By honoring the approximately 2 million volunteers who participate in clinical trials every year, we help make sure that no child is denied life-saving vaccines.

One Volunteer – Volunteers are crucial to the clinical trial process. Without willing participants, advancements in new drug development would stagnate. Many clinical trial volunteers participate to advance medicine with the ultimate goal of advancing global health and quality of life.
